Outside Reading book summary again

I am going to be talking about my book again. Sorry in advance if I talk about the same thing.
The book once again is called Gym Candy. At the beginning of the book you see Mick and his dad in their backyard. His dad painted the grass white lines for it made a mini football field. Mick had to try to get around his dad (who is on his knees) and score a touchdown. I think it was about the second week after attempting but failing he finally got past his dad with a wicked juke. But one day Mick’s dad told him something that he will never forget. That there is no crying in the football. Mick’s dad made him start school late so he had an upper hand on being a starter on the football team. The reason is so that Mick would be bigger, faster, and stronger then everyone else who was on the team. Mick wasn’t really that happy at first because everyone knew that Mick was a year older than everyone so he had an upper hand on everyone.
When Mick was practicing with the varsity team his dad told him to be always be by the person who is higher than him in the depth charts so the coaches can see that he was a good player. So by the end of the second week he went from sixth of the depth chart to the number second stop.
Once again sorry if I talked about something I have already talked about.

OUTSIDE READING BOOK (highlight to read)

The book that I have read for outside reading is the book GYM CANDY. I have already finished the book because my parents made me get a book and read it. The book is about a boy who plays football for a Washington High School. The Mick’s (the main dude) father was a really good running back. He was Mr. Football in his high school. Went to USC and played running back, and then got drafted by the Chargers. But he didn’t play any games. The reason he told his son is that he sprained his ankle then came back to early and sprained it again and he couldn’t really play that hard anymore so they laid him off. But the real reason is because he was mean to the players and coaches, he got many DWI’s and he was always late to the team meetings.
So in 9th grade Mick was called up to play on Varsity. He wasn’t the biggest running back out on field but he was the fastest. Then during the next couple weeks he moved from the bottom of the depth charts to the second. But he was starting for all the special teams. Then one day the starter of the team got caught drinking and he was kicked off the team. So in the Championship game Mick was playing. They lost by six points and Mick was six inches away from the goal line.
He and his friends were saying that the man who stopped him was on the juice. So Mick wanted to get bigger so he started to lift weights. But he was thinking that he wasn’t going anywhere. So when he was at the club working out with his personal trainer Mick asked him about getting on the juice and he gave him some.
Then in the next season there was another dude who was playing running back who was pretty good. But Mick was better because he was a lot stronger and quicker. Every game when Mick was on the juice he broke a High School record. He got them to the Championship game again. But once again he got hit at the six inch line by the same dude. But instead of falling backwards Mick kept on moving his legs and knocked the player in to the end zone. They won the game.
But when he was on the juice Mick was feeling really depressed. So he picked up a friend who was on the Varsity team and brought him to a pond because he knew about Mick using the juice. Mick brought his dad’s gun, and when the friend was walking away Mick took it out and pointed at the friend. Then stopped and pointed it himself. Mick shot the gun and the bullet skinned his head. He didn’t die but he went to treatment.
And that is the end of the book.

THE ROAD part 1

The book THE ROAD by Cormac McCarthy is about a father and his son is wondering on a road after a nuclear winter. They are both wearing some type of bag to keep their stuff they find in it. But the father has a gun for protection because there are some people on the road that are not really nice. So one day as they were walking they find a barn with a pigs butt on the door. So when the father opened the barn door, inside was all dark not much light and depressing. Then when they look up they see three dead bodies hanging in the rafters. In today’s reading I read that when the father and son were walking they walk right by the father’s house in which he grew up in. The son was saying that he doesn’t want to go in, that his is too scared to go in. Then when they got in there wasn’t really anything there. Then after they came out of the house they started to head towards the mountains and the father was thinking about if they would have enough food to last going through the mountains.

The book I am reading is Gym Candy. But I am already done reading it.

I did over thanksgiving break

On Thanksgiving I had most of my dads side of the family over and one family from my mom side come over to eat. Before we ate one of my cousins from Madison brought their dog to our house. His name was Jasper but I don’t know what kind of dog it was. So we were walking the dog around the block in till we had to eat, because Jasper would have had to stay in the car for the in tire time when we were eating. So after the meal we brought Jasper back into my backyard and played fetch with him while I and a cousin were playing catch with a rugby ball because I couldn’t find a football that was inflated. After playing outside for about an hour and a half us everyone who was outside went inside and talked. But me and my cousin who were playing catch went and played madden because we always play each other when he is over. This year since he lives in Wisconsin and I live in Minnesota we played a Packers vs. Vikings. He was the Packers and I was Vikings. He always wins but it is still fun. This time he kicked my butt. In the fourth quarter I through 3 interceptions one right after the other. Then when everyone one gone we watched Fred Clause. But right as we were about to finish the movie the lamp in our TV gone out so we don’t know how it ends. That is what my family and I did on Thanksgiving Day.

The Odyssey (HIGHLIGHT TO READ)

The book Odyssey is a somewhat good book. But it is a very confusing book, but like I know the main parts in the book. For example the book is about a man named Odysseus, and he went of to fight in the Trojan War. But when everyone else got home he was still not home. So the elders of the city pronounced him dead. But his son doesn’t was to accept it so he goes off to go look for his dad. There is one chapter that was confusing in the 11th book it was when Odysseus was in the underworld and he was talking to all these dead people. He was talking to so many people that you didn’t know if it was him or some other dead person because there was so many of them. But other parts in the book were cool. When Odysseus and his crew were in the cave and then they stabbed the Polyphemus (the son of Poseidon, God of Water) in the eye. A funny part is when Circe (witch goddess) turned Odysseus’s crew into pigs. The book has its funny parts and serious parts. A serious part is when Telemecaus goes to his first destination and finds out that his dad was “dead”.

Trail of Terror 11/1/08

Something I did this weakened was I went to Trail of Terror with the church called St Patrick’s. Since clowns are not my favorite, my clowns took me into a tiny haunted house called the Clown House. I was pretty freaked out. Clowns were coming at me in all different directions. But before that we went into the main haunted house. At first it went pretty good I was screaming a lot. This one time in the main haunted house a clown so bad I fell to the ground. When I got up I just had to give the clown a high five. But then we got to the clown section. That is when it went all down hill. Clowns were hitting the cages making really loud noises and scaring the crap out of me. This one clown was following me. I asked why you are following me really loud. And said because your fun in a really creepy voice and that just messed me up. Then the part we went outside then right back in the JASON came running at my group. But I wasn’t so scared because Jason doesn’t really scare me so I laughed and gave him a high five to. So in the end of the night it was pretty fun. I laughed, screamed and almost messed myself a handful of times.

Something that happened over the weekend

On Saturday last weekend Edina played Eden Prairie. It was a really good game. No one scored in the first quarter, and then with about three seconds left of the first half Eppel kicked a 27 yard field goal to be up by three. As we were heading into the locker room we were all pumped up because we were beating a team that hasn’t lost a game since 2005. When we were in the locker room partying it up Zack Buddish came and started yelling, he was saying that you should not me happy right now. You guys are playing like crap. Eden Prairie second half are going to come out fighting and will want to beat you to keep their streak alive. So after that we were quiet and talking how we will do the next half. The scoring in the second half went like this. Scaeffer from Eden Prairie ran in but failed to convert the field goal, because Edina is BEASTLY. Then Scaeffer again ran but for an 85 yard touchdown. But they got the field goal after that. Then from Edina Moynihan ran for 15 yards and then Eppel converted the field goal. Then Eden Prairie scored for the last time on a 13 yard run by Larson. But then after the kick off we marched down the field and Mr. Lee found Eppel and scored a 17 yard pass. The final score of the game was Eden Prairie 20 Edina 17.
SO EVEN THOUGH EDEN PRAIRIE WON EDINA IS STILL WAY BETTER!!!!!

A movie I had watched

A movie I had watched over the MEA week was the movie I, Robot. The movie takes place 2035. In the movie everyone had a robot to do stuff for them. But the Del Spooner (Will Smith) didn’t like the robots because of an event that happened awhile ago. The robot in the movie has 3 laws that they must follow. They must not harm any human or and they must save a human when the human is in trouble. The second law is that all robots must obey all the humans’ commands. The last law is that all robots must protect themselves but it cannot interfere with the first and second law. In the movie the man who created the robots died. Everyone thought that he killed himself by jumping out of a window about 50 stories. But later in the movie I found out that the man who died told his robot to throw the man out of the window. But when the robot was made the man made the robot able to not obey the three laws. Then when all the new robots were going bad they thought the man who was doing this was the man who owns USR (united states robotics) but they found out it wasn’t cause they saw him dead on the ground and the robots were still going crazy. So in the end they found out that the security thing in the building called Viki was making the robots kill everyone.

Something I have done

Something I have done over the weekend. On Saturday night my parents were at a neighbor’s house. They took my little cousin Max, he is seven years old but he looks like he is four or five years old, before they left my dad told me that the only reason why they are brining him with. The reason is because so they had an excuse to leave the house early. So I was on the computer looking on you tube of UFC fights. Then all the sudden I was really hungry. So I went to the garage to get a pizza out of the freezer. I look in the freezer and there wasn’t any good pizza. So I turned around to go back inside and the door was locked. So I ran to the front door and that door was locked. So I took my dads keys from his truck because they were still in the truck. So then I called my dad and he didn’t answer. So I called my mom and I told her what happened. She asked how did I do that, and I said I thought the door was unlocked. But then she told me to run around the house because she said that my dad might have closed the door but kept it unlocked. So I got in, went back outside in the garage to close the door, then I went back into the freezer and got out a Popsicle. So in the end it was a pretty good night.

A movie I had watched

A movie that I watched is the book I am reading for an out side reading book.
The movie is called SAVING PRIVATE RYAN. The movie is pretty good because my favorite movies are gory movies, comedy, and zombie movies. But this movie is a gory action movie that takes place in World War II. The opening scene is people on boats going to D-Day. Then when got to the beach the door opened and they Americans got there butts kicked by machine guns, because the machine guns were just mowing them down. So people were jumping over the side of the boat into the water. So some people drowned and some people lived. Then after D-Day a group of people were told to look for a private. His name was James Ryan, he was from Iowa. He had three older brothers who were killed in battle. So pretty much the rest of the movie they looked for the dude. Then towards the end of the movie they find Private James Ryan and were bringing him to the safety zone, because he was 15 miles or greater from the zone. But at the end of the movie about seven people held a tank and about 30 Nazis. Then when they fought they were going to lose they ran across the bridge that they put a bunch of TNT. So when the tank was on the bridge they tried to blow it up. So Tom Hanks took a pistol and shot the tank a couple of times and the tank blew up. Saving Private Ryan was a really good movie. If you haven’t seen it you have no life.

Something I have seen

Something I have watched over the weekend is the movie Dark Knight. It was the second time I have seen it. The movie was really good, and really funny. The two funniest scenes that I remember is the scene with the disappearing pencil trick. The made me laugh really hard. Then the second scene that made me laugh is the scene when the Joker was dressed up in the nurse’s outfit. The first time I saw the movie I was a little bit tired. But when ever the joker was on the screen I woke up because the joker is the greatest villain ever, and the quote I like the most is “What ever doesn’t kill you makes you STRANGER.” That quote made me laugh a little bit. Seeing it for the second time was a pretty good idea, because I forgot what the funny scenes were, and now that I have saw it again I remember it now. Now I can not wait for the movie to come out on DVD. Now I can not wait for the movie IRON MAN to come out on DVD cause that movie was a really good movie also. And I think that Batman and Iron Man are not superheroes, because a superhero to me is a dude who has super powers, and Batman and Iron Man are just two rich dudes who have a lot of time on there hands so they go around fighting crime with gadgets. Not powers they got from a wired disaster or toxic spider, or just born on another planet. But they are still pretty cool.

Something that i have read

I am reading an outside reading book right now for Guys & Lit. I am reading to book Saving Private Ryan. The book starts out right before D-Day. Sergeant Miller is talking to him company in his Higgins boat. Then the second chapter is the Higgins wall goes down and D-Day starts. Miller jumped over the side and the weight of him and his backpack of equipment and gun sunk him to the ocean floor. When he got to the floor he started to take off his backpack. When he was done he saw that another person trying to get his off but couldn’t. So Miller cut the backpack off and carried him and the other man up to the surface. The guy got shot a couple times. So Miller used the man’s body as a shield. When he was done he saw people doing the same thing with people. Then a grenade went off really close by him and he lost his hearing for a while. Then when he got his hearing back he told people to get a place where the Nazi couldn’t shoot at them. This book is really good so far. It is filled with action, which I really like, and in the first half they said eleven swear words. They said the f word about 8 times, and they said the s word about 3 times.

Something that I have watched/read

Vikings vs Colts

I saw the Vikings game on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.
The Vikings were winning after the first three quarters of the game. The score was 15 to 7. But then the start of the fourth quarter Peyton Manning threw three passes, two of them were a first down pass, and then the third pass was a touchdown, And that put the Colts down by two. The Colts ran for a two point conversation. That tied the game at 15 all. Then after the kickoff the Vikings failed to get anywhere so they are forced to punt. Manning threw the ball to Wayne who caught it in the middle of the field. Everybody ran to the ball and Manning spiked the ball with 8 seconds left on the clock. The Colts kicker came on the field and kicked a 47 yard field goal.

I think the Vikings didn't do as good as I would think they could of. They should stop running with Adrian Peterson every other play to, once or maybe twice every other first down, cause every time he is out there the defense is expecting him to get the ball so they just anticipate him running around one of the sides. They should run a lot of fakes with him so the defense might be drawed in the fake so Mr. Jackson can do a pass to another player, and score a tochdown. Hopefully.

A Journey I Intend to Take

A journey I would like is to go to New Zealand. I would go watch the New Zealand rugby team called All Blacks. I would want to go there when there is a tournament there, and Iriland and France playing there. The reason they need to be in the tournament is for Iriland because out of the many years the sport rugby has been playing Iriland has never beaten New Zealand, and I know that will never happen. The reason for France is because they beat New Zealand to get into the championship game for the World Cup. Another reason I would go to New Zeland is beause i heard that the mountians are pretty good to go snowboarding. The last reason is because New Zealand is just a pretty sick country to go to.

Each post should be at least 200 words. Each weekly post is due by 8am on that Wednsday. m Therefore, Q1 due dates are:9/17, 9/24, 10/1, 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, and 10/29. That makes for a total of 7 posts this first quarter. I understand that blogs are worth 100 points per quarter and are graded holistically. i also understand that blogging is a significant component of my quarter grade. By the way, what I have just is only 196 words! Now it is 200!
